TAKING FLIGHT: Our world-class jet aircraft took to the skies last week, safely and speedily - transferring a patient from Lord Howe Island to the mainland for the first time. Given the 780km distance from Sydney to the island, the Aeromedical Control Centre was quick to task the state-of-the-art PC-24 jet - one of two recent additions to the NSW Ambulance fleet. The jets are equipped with the latest technology and medical equipment to help optimise response times for patients in regional and remote communities. And that’s precisely what the aircraft accomplished - previously clocking in at 117 minutes, the jet shaved off 35 minutes, completing the flight in just 82 minutes. The specialist medical team safely retrieved the patient who was transported back to NSW for further care. #NSWAmbulance
