• Australian travel budgets have increased by 35% over the past year, with the average budget rising to AUD$6,145. Many Australians are adjusting their spending to accommodate travel, such as opting for cheaper transport, shorter trips, fewer destinations, and budget accommodations.
• With multi-generational travel a soaring trend amongst Aussies, new research from Club Med has revealed it’s officially the new way to holiday with almost half (43%) of Aussies planning on taking a multi-generational holiday in the next 12 months.
• New research shows that nearly one-third of Australian travellers are willing to sacrifice online financial security when booking a holiday if it means they can save a significant amount of money.
• 71% of travellers said they sometimes feel anxious about whether they got the best deal after they’ve booked their trip. In comparison, 42% said airline offers have become ‘less suitable’ over time in meeting their personal preferences.
• Generation Z is now the most frequent business traveller group in New Zealand. “Gen Z has different considerations than previous generations with 28% now identifying as LGBQT+, only 15% believing they have ‘excellent’ mental health, and the fact they’ve grown up around crises – meaning their travel behaviours are different.
